Waste-to-revenue partnerships for agricultural processors

We turn your agricultural waste into money.

Palm kernel shells. Cashew husks. Sawdust. Whatever you're burning or dumping — BIG converts it into biochar and carbon credits, and you get paid for it.

Palm kernel shells Cashew husks Sawdust Carbon credit revenue share

From waste pile to paid product

BIG handles collection, production, carbon credit verification, sales, and revenue sharing.

01

01 — Offtake

We collect your waste

Palm kernel shells, cashew husks, sawdust. If you're producing it at scale and don't know what to do with it, that's exactly what we're looking for.

02

02 — Production

We process it into biochar

Our equipment converts your residues into stable biochar through a controlled heating process. No open burning. No smoke. A clean, high-value output.

03

03 — Payout

We share carbon credit revenue

Biochar locks carbon out of the atmosphere permanently. That earns verified carbon credits. We sell those credits to international buyers and pay you a share of what we earn.

Two inputs. See what you earn each year as your share of the carbon credit revenue — paid to your business under our partnership model.

All revenue figures shown are what you receive after the partnership split. Assumes $150/tCO₂e carbon credit price · 97.5% collection efficiency · 0% upfront investment shown as primary result.

Option 1 What you earn — 0% upfront $70,946 paid to you per year · $14.19 / t of your waste
No downpayment required from you. No payment, no machine purchase, no installation cost. You simply provide your raw waste material — BIG finances, installs, and operates the machine at your site.
Option 2 What you earn — 50% machine downpayment $177,365 paid to you per year · $35.47 / t of your waste
Your one-time 50% downpayment on the machine: $90,000
Co-invest and earn more. By covering half of the pyrolyzer's full equipment cost up front, you become a co-owner of the machine — and your share of the carbon credit revenue jumps from 20% to 50%. BIG still handles installation, operation, maintenance, and credit sales. You keep providing the raw waste material.

Questions processors ask us

What's the partnership model — what does BIG actually do?

BIG (Biochar Industrial Group) is incorporated in the USA. We finance, install, and operate an industrial pyrolyzer at your site at no upfront cost to you.

Revenue from carbon credit sales is split: 20% to you, 60% to the financier of the machine, and 20% to BIG. If you choose to co-invest in the machine yourself, your share scales proportionally — up to 80%.

How much can I actually earn per year?

It depends on your feedstock type and annual volume. See the calculator above for a live estimate — pick your feedstock and enter your tonnes per year.

For context: a processor running ~5,000 tonnes/year of cashew shells earns roughly $71,000/year at the 0% upfront tier, or $177,000/year at the 50% co-invest tier.

What technology do you use for biochar production?

Continuous-feed industrial pyrolyzers operating at 450–600°C in a low-oxygen environment. Zero open flame, no smoke.

We've been running this exact system at a sister palm kernel processing facility in Nigeria since 2024 — it's proven, not prototype.

What are your feedstock specifications and moisture requirements?

Minimum volume: 1,000 tonnes/year. Moisture thresholds vary by feedstock:

  • Palm kernel shells — moisture below 15%
  • Cashew nut shells — moisture below 15%
  • Sawdust — moisture below 20%

If your material runs wetter than this, we can usually accommodate it with a short pre-drying step — talk to us.

What's the carbon credit methodology and certification standard?

We use the European Biochar Certificate (EBC) and Puro.earth methodology. MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) involves third-party lab verification of biochar carbon content and stability.

First credit issuance typically lands ~2 months after installation goes live.

Do you have existing operations we can reference?

Yes. We operate Nigeria's first industrial biochar plant, continuously processing palm kernel shells since December 2024. Happy to share site references and connect you with the operating team once we're in serious conversation.

What do you need from us — land, utilities, permits?

Three things:

  • Your feedstock supply (1,000–5,000+ tonnes/year)
  • Approximately 10m × 10m of covered space near your processing line
  • Access to 3-phase power (~5–7 kW)

Permits, compliance, machine operation, and carbon credit certification — all handled by BIG.

How long from signing to first revenue?

Roughly 6 months from signed agreement to live operations, then ~2 months until the first carbon credits are issued and sold. So plan on ~8 months from handshake to first payment.
